Role of a Postpartum Doulas
A postpartum doula steps in to assist with everything concerning mom and baby during the day. Their primary role in your home is to give you the support you need to truly bond with your baby without outside factors getting in the way. Postpartum doulas are trained to assist in ways that make the mom feel seen, heard, and cared for. Many people are eager to come help with the fresh newborn, but can often overlook the recovering mom.
Doula support at Babymoon Concierge focuses on teaching new parents as well. We believe that knowledge leads to empowered parenting, and we want to be sure you feel confident in your roles as parents. We encourage this by teaching baby care basics such as diapering, soothing techniques, recognizing baby’s cues, and routines that are simple to follow.

Exploring the Benefits
Postpartum support in your home plays a huge role in physical recovery. They are your feet on the ground support which means the mom can spend more time resting in bed. Doulas can monitor any postpartum complications that may arise: excess bleeding, swelling, headaches, and fevers. They are also trained to support cesarean birth recovery such as scar care, scar mobilization, and tips to care for baby while recovering yourself.
Postpartum doulas keep an eye on mental health. Postpartum can bring on mood disorders and our doulas are equipped to provide referrals as needed. One of our favorite options are the counselors at Little Love Counseling.
Builds confidence in new moms. Quality support equips parents on how to care for their newborn well. In other words, having this kind of support at the beginning of motherhood can help you feel more confident overall and be more responsive to your child!
A Calmer Home. New parents often feel a whirlwind of emotions. A postpartum doula provides the calm you need. They offer support that promotes both physical and emotional well-being during this unique phase.
