Newborn Care Specialist or Night Nanny

They equivalent of a modern day baby nurse or night nanny without the medical training. They do go through extensive training in infant care with high certification credentials. A Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) is an individual highly trained and skilled in newborn care. They have expertise in all aspects of understanding and caring for newborns while providing support and guidance to the parents when baby comes home. They are knowledgeable in breastfeeding and formula, setting a schedule, sleep training interpreting baby’s needs, types of diaper rashes and how to treat them, cord care, circumcision care, colic, reflux, swaddling, soothing techniques, ailments, newborn safety and complete baby basics. They will have experience with preemies, multiples and special needs babies. They focus on baby care while moms and dads sleep and should you need extended infant care they will be happy to assist. They also follow industry guidelines as well. Duties will include:

Feeding the baby/babies

· Bathing baby/babies

· Sterilizing, cleaning and preparing bottles

· Initiating a schedule for sleeping, meals, nap and play-time

· Laundering baby/babies clothing and linens

· Keeping the nursery tidy

· Changing linens

. Sleep Conditioning and Training (additional service)

· Maintaining all supplies

· Restocking baby/babies care items

· Emptying diaper containers

· Keeping the baby/babies playrooms and bathroom tidy

· Keeping age appropriate toys safe and in good working order

· Keeping a daily journal of baby/babies schedules and moods

· Running baby/babies related errands as directed

· Transporting baby/babies to activities and appointments

· Singing, reading, and stimulating activities for the baby/babies

· When baby gets older gentle sleep training
